Snake Plissken is once again called in by the United States government to recover a potential doomsday device from Los Angeles, now an autonomous island where undesirables are deported.
Rating:6/10 Well it took long enough for a sequel. But another rmovie to go ahead and give us a poltical and social commentary of America. You know, sometimes it gets kind of sickening watching all these actors, directors and story writers to give us their take on the social and politcal commentaries. I'm not going to go on a rant though because this is not the forum for it. I will say though, as far as an action movie goes, this wasn't bad. It follows the same formula as Escape From New York, so there really isn't no surprises as far as which direction the film is going and what is going to happen next. Snake Plissken is one of the coolest anti-heroes in cinema history. The special effects were pretty cool looking as well. I love when Plissken is riding in a sub to go to Los Angeles and he goes through a building and a shark tries to take a bite out of the sub. Kurt Russell's supporting cast was pretty good as well and none of them took away too much screen time from Russell's character. The action was more cartoonish than the original, but that doesn't hurt the story too much. Oh well, this is still a good movie to have a cold beer and some popcorn with.
